Frame-rate model

FPS Calculator

How many FPS will you get? This works from each game’s published recommended spec rather than one curve for every game, so a heavy release and a light indie game give very different answers on the same card.

Your estimate appears here

All three resolutions are shown side by side.

01 · Anchor

The publisher’s recommended spec counts as 60 FPS at 1080p on high.

02 · Scale

Your graphics card’s index against that spec moves the number up or down.

03 · Cap

Your processor sets a ceiling the card can’t pass, whatever the resolution.

Frame-rate questions

Where does the number come from?

From the game’s own recommended spec. We treat a PC that exactly matches it as running at 60 FPS at 1080p on high, then scale up or down by how much faster or slower your graphics card and processor are, and by the resolution and preset you choose.

How close to my real frame rate will it be?

Close enough to tell 40 FPS from 90, not close enough to promise 73. Driver versions, patches, background apps, memory speed and the scene you are in all move a real reading.

Why is my frame rate the same at 1080p and 1440p?

Because the processor is the limit in that game. Resolution loads the graphics card, not the processor, so once the processor is maxed out a lower resolution adds nothing.

Does it include DLSS or FSR?

No — every figure is native resolution. Turning on an upscaler in Quality mode generally lands you a good step above what is shown.
